Storytelling lies at the heart of El Sol. Through art, film, photography, music, and digital media, participants share personal stories of struggle and triumph. These creative outlets allow men to process trauma, celebrate culture, and inspire others with their journeys.

Core Components:

• Build self-esteem, identity, and purpose among participants.

• Shift public narratives about men from deficit to strength.



Physical & Mental Health



Program Description:

Recognizing that true leadership and resilience begin with health, El Sol integrates a dedicated Male Health and Wellness Initiative. This pillar promotes physical fitness, mental health awareness, and access to culturally competent care. The program bridges stigma gaps by normalizing conversations about men’s emotional wellbeing and physical selfcare— essential foundations for sustainable family and community leadership.

Core Components:

• Fitness & Nutrition Programs Group workouts, sports leagues, and culturally relevant nutrition education.

• Stress & Anger Management Workshops Mindfulness, meditation, and holistic approaches to coping and self-regulation.

• Substance-Use & Recovery Support Coordination with community partners for peer recovery, group sessions, and family support.



Youth Development



Program Description:

El Sol’s youth component provides a value rooted environment for young men to explore identity, leadership, and purpose. Through mentorship and experiential learning, youth gain critical life skills while developing confidence and discipline.

Community Violence Intervention



Program Description:

El Sol implements a trauma-informed, culturally relevant CVI model rooted in trust and lived experience. Outreach workers and mentors—many of whom are credible messengers—engage those most impacted by violence, providing support and alternatives.

Leadership Development



Program Description:

El Sol’s Leadership Development pillar cultivates strong, values-driven leaders rooted in community, culture, and accountability. Through mentorship, education, healing-centered practices, and real-world leadership opportunities, we develop fathers, youth, and emerging community leaders to lead with purpose, integrity, and vision. Our approach strengthens personal growth, civic engagement, and economic mobility—building leaders equipped to transform their families, neighborhoods, and institutions for generations to come.
